Bruce Bingham

Chairman, CEO

Mr. Bingham’s 30 years of business management experience spans the operations and financial management of some of the largest marine, forestry, and resource management groups in BC, with revenues of over $250 million. His business leadership experience includes start-up project development, strategic planning, financing, and execution in some of BC’s then-emerging industries, including aquaculture, renewable energy, and alternative energy technology industries.

He is a qualified Master Mariner and marine transportation logistics specialist.

Dr. Orson Bourne

Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Bourne joined BBCP as its CTO after retiring from the NRC in 2013. At the NRC Dr Bourne held a variety of business and technical position throughout his 30+ years of service. In his last five years his primary responsibility was in developing national and international business relationships, where NRC expertise in nanotechnology could be used to provide commercially viable solutions to manufacturing and energy related problems. 

Orson has published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals and holds a number of patents. His current focus is on energy sustainability with a particular emphasis on developing economies where the need is to provide cost effective technical solutions that fits their economic structure. Dr. Bourne subscribes to the philosophy that economic prosperity is linked directly to the knowledge that provides sustainable energy solutions.

Klaus Oehr, M.A. Sc.

Director – Scientific Intellectual Property

Klaus Oehr is an accomplished chemist/electrochemical engineer and recognized intellectual property expert with substantial patent litigation experience and 55 years of experience in chemical, petrochemical and electrochemical research and development. His most recent invention ‘Mercontrol®” was successfully commercialized by Ecolab/Nalco for full-scale application in North American coal-fired electric power plants. A second co-invention related to waste latex paint recycling was licensed to BASF. Klaus was also co-developer of a cyanide waste treatment technology which was the first winner of the Chemical Institute of Canada Environmental Improvement Award. In 1996 one of Mr. Oehr’s co-inventions, related to high speed metal wire cleaning, was the winner of the Financial Post of Canada Environmental gold award for best innovative technology. That technology was licensed to companies including Hitachi and Alcatel.

Marten Kruysse

Advisor – Government relations and strategic planning committees

Marten Kruysse has had a career in business planning, startups, lending and
international trade development.  He was the Canadian Director of Retriev Technologies and co-founder of BBCP.  

Carol Edwards

Advisor – Finance and strategic planning

Ms. Edwards brings 20 years of senior finance experience, with expertise in the field of renewable energy, and over a decade in the field of managing money, including a $1 billion small cap investment fund in Toronto.

Ms. Edwards is currently Instructor of Finance at BC Institute of Technology (BCIT) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
